The research of Institute of Theoretical Physics (ITP) explores the structure of matter and fundamental interactions, the origin and evolution of the universe. It ranges from perturbative quantum field theory for the strong and electroweak interactions of quarks and leptons to effective field theories, astro-particle physics and cosmology, etc.
After long-term development and accumulation, ITP is now concentrating on the following research fields: Precision Test of Standard Model and Search for New Physics, Perturbative Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD), Hadron Physics and QCD Non-Perturbative Phenomenology, High Energy Nuclear Physics, Neutrino Physics, Astro-particle Physics and Cosmology, etc. The team members have close cooperation with both domestic and foreign collaborators, and the research results have been highly recognized.
